As part of the first batch of Genesis Mission projects announced by the Department of Energy on July 22, 2026, the University of Hawaii-led project “Developing a Foundation Model to Unify Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay Search Technologies” was selected, with collaborators from UC San Diego, SLAC, and the University of Pittsburgh.

The Surukuchi group is part of this effort, which aims to leverage AI to unify analysis and search across technologies for neutrinoless double-beta decay.
